As long as I remember I have been fascinated by technology, in particular by Mechanical Systems. In my childhood, I could spend hours standing next to machines, while trying to figure out how they would work. Of course I tried to build my own machines with wood and Legos. As such, the choice to study Mechanical Engineering at the Delft University of Technology was easily made. During my study I had different Part-Time Jobs, as I wanted to put the abstract theory into practice, so I worked at a Metal Workshop and later on as a Draftsman/Designer. At the beginning of my Master’s program I married my lovely wife Eline and moved downtown Dordrecht, where we are currently living. During my thesis I conceptualized, realized and tested a novel energy saving drive systems for robotic hands.
After graduation, we wanted to live and work abroad for some months to broaden our horizon. This brought us to Ethiopia, where we had a very adventurous and interesting time with lots of good coffee. When it was time to return back, I looked at a list I kept with interesting and innovative companies. Of course, IMSystems was among them and now I’m here.
What I like about IMSystems is the young and enthusiastic team and the incredible potential of the novel drive-concept. I’m looking forward to the breakthrough we’ll make in the transmission technology.
