Development Kit Drive for R&D purposes

Announcing our first generation

IMSystems is proud to announce the upcoming release of the first generation of Archimedes Drives for developers. With this drive, IMSystems aims at becoming the new standard in high-performance actuation. To accomplish this, we need your feedback. Our speed reducer technology allows our drive to have very-large single-stage gear ratios and high torque density while having a competitive efficiency and price. After years of development, we are preparing the production of the first released series of drives for you, our potential client.

 

These drives are fully working samples and can be used for your R&D purposes. The goal of this release is for you to get first access to this new technology and show you what can be possible when using it. We recognize that each application has specific needs, so we set out to tackle a typical robotic design problem: the classic axis 3 ‘elbow’. We chose axis three so that we can include discrete main bearings, appropriately sized to any reasonable load, making it easier for you to try it out in your own designs. These drives are focused on a few of the things we do very well:

 

  • Low input friction
  • Minimal backlash
  • Backdrivable

 

If you are interested, you could be one of the first to receive the Archimedes Drive, at the beginning of next year (Q1 2020).
